4 Month Check-Up

The babies went to the doctor for their four month check up last week. They are both doing great.  Leah was 23 inches long and weighed 10lb  6 oz, which puts her in the 10% for height and the 3% for weight. Jack was 23 1/4 inches long and weighed 11lb 9 oz, which puts him in the 5% for height and the 3% for weight. They had their second round of shots which is never fun and were a little out of sorts for a couple of days.

We started cereal last Thursday. It doesn’t seem like they are actually getting much in their stomachs but they have slept very well the last couple of nights so maybe they are getting some. They both seem to like the cereal, but it is a lengthy and messy process for me. Last night the babies slept from 8:30 until 5:30 and the night before they slept from 8:30 until 5:00. I feel much more rested than I have for a long time. I hope that this continues. The doctor told us that they really shouldn’t need to eat in the middle of the night and told us not to feed them before 4:30 even if they wake up. It seems like it would be torture for Jason and I if they wake up at 3:00 or so and we have to listen to them cry for an hour and a half. Hopefully that won’t happen. We are also trying to work on putting them to bed awake and letting them fall asleep on their own… it is getting better. Jason and I have a hard time not rocking them to sleep when we know it will make the whole process quicker.

I put a couple of pictures of their first cereal experience below.

  1. There getting so big. I can’t believe they are on cereal already. This is where the fun begins:) Wait till they get older and start throwing food at you when they don’t want it, speaking from experience:)

  2. They look so cute with that cereal all over their faces. I miss them so much, can’t wait to get home and give them a big hug.

  3. So cute! You guys are doing the right thing with setting healthy sleep habits early. It’s hard at first, but SO important for them and for you! They are both such dolls!!!
