It has been a busy couple of days. Jack and Leah were baptized today. Jack cried a little but they both did very well. This was our first time going to church as a family. I really wish I had gotten a picture of the four of us, but somehow we didn’t end up getting one. I need to be better about remembering these things.  We are going to try and go to chruch every week now. Hopefully Jack and Leah will start to get the hang of it.. and we aren’t always the loudest people in church.

Thursday I did something that I hadn’t really done yet with the kids. I ran errands. We went to costco and target to get stuff for after the baptism. I’m still kind of figuring out how to do all of that. I can now easily get them in and out of the car… but then once I get in the store I’m never sure what to do with the stuff I’m buying. If I put it under the stroller basket I feel like people think I’m shop lifting but I don’t have any hands free. I resorted to taking my own shopping bags and just putting everything in a bag as I shop. It wasn’t the easiest trip, but we got what we needed.

Tough Cookie

When Leah was born she was tongue tied. This basically means that the piece of skin connecting her tongue to her mouth is longer than most peoples. While we were still in the NICU they had a specialist come look at her and determined that it wasn’t keeping her from eating so we would just leave it alone for the time being.

After talking to our pediatrician and Dr. Grandpa.. we decided that we should go ahead and have a frenectomy done, which is a procedure where the piece of skin is cut. My Dad does this procedure but didn’t want to do it on baby Leah so we took her for a consultation to see another oral surgeon today. While we were there they ended up doing the frenectomy. I am happy to report that Little Leah was a champ. She cried a little but was very good. I felt terrible having to hold her while they did it but it was very fast and she was back to normal in no time. The funniest thing was that she has been sticking her tongue out all day. I tried to grab a picture but I was never able to catch it.

Here are a few new pics

Hi Again

March 8, 2010 at 2:50 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

I know I haven’t posted in a while when I start getting emails asking if things are going ok. The babies have been very good recently. With the weather being so nice I have taken every opportunity to get outside. We didn’t do very well on our crying it out thing.. Jack had one night where he got up at 2 am and we started to let him cry it out but after about 15 min of hard crying I started to worry that he was going to wake up Leah and decided just to go feed him. Last week the babies slept from 7:30 to 6 am almost every day so we really haven’t thought about crying it out since then. The past couple of days they have been getting up at 4:30 or 5 but they are still doing pretty good.

We have been busy the last few days. Friday I took the babies up to visit Jason at work. We had a good time. They did pretty well for the most part but got a little tired at the end. Saturday we went to Lawrence and had lunch with two of my good friends. The babies were not so good at lunch but I think it was just a lot going on because as soon as we got home they were better. Sunday we went out to lunch and then visited Aunt Gina, Uncle Tony, Grandma Rosemary and Grandpa Joe. The babies were showing off big time at Aunt Gina and Uncle Tony’s house. Smiling and laughing and rolling over. They are really enjoying being the center of attention these days. I wish I had taken pictures of something we did this weekend but I left my camera in the stroller the whole time and managed to not take any pictures. I promise to take some soon.
