6 Months

This is a little late.. but better late than never right? The babies had their 6 month check up last week. Jack now weighs 14 lb 9oz and is 25 3/4 inches long. This puts him in the 25th percentile for height and the 10th percentile for weight. Leah is 13 lb and 24 3/4 inches long which makes her in the 6th percentile for weight and the 20th percentile for height.

The babies are both doing well. They have hit all their developmental mile stones and seem to be right on track. The doctor did tell us that we need to start feeding them baby food three times a day and include meat. This is kind of a chore because Jack doesn’t like baby food and would really prefer the bottle. The additional solid food is supposed to help with their acid reflux problems.. hopefully it will. Jack had a slight ear infection so he didn’t end up getting his vaccines and got antibiotics instead. This is our first time ever to take antibiotics… I am impressed that we made it 6 whole months. Leah has choked several times and I have had to give her the Heimlich so she is having a test done tomorrow to make sure that there is nothing in her throat that would cause this. If their isn’t anything wrong anatomically then we will go to an occupational therapist to work on her eating. Hopefully the test will go smoothly tomorrow.

Here are a few new pictures of Leah. Jack wasn’t cooperating so I have to try and get some more of him.

  1. Jack is so much like Jace! He was the same way with Baby food and would have rather had the bottle anyday than eat baby food. Keep at it. It took us about 2-3 weeks of constantly trying to feed him while feeding Ireland at the same time and then he got it.
