Easter Part II

Easter morning we woke up at the wonderful hour of 5:30 am. Leah decided it was time to get up and in the process of yelling mommy woke up Jack. We piled both kids into our bed and turned on the cartoons until it was a more resonable hour. Surprisingly the kids were okay with this.

As an Easter treat Jason went and got doughnuts for everyone so we could eat in a hurry and be ready for church. We have not been going to church regularily, which is something that I really want to start doing. I grew up very involved in my chruch and miss being a part of that. However, it is easier said that done with 19 month olds. My parents and sister came to chruch with us and the kids did great. We are going to go again this week and see what happens.

After church the rest of my side of the family came over and we had a big ole Easter feast. Ham, homeade macaroni and cheese, broccoli cheese casserole, salad, rolls and some yummy cupcakes my sister made. The kids were too worn out from getting up at 5:30 to stay up for lunch and ended up eating before everyone else and taking a nap while we ate. It would have been nice if we could have all eaten together but I must admidt I was a little happy to eat without someone hanging on me or begging for food.

When the kids got up we had an easter egg hunt and they opened presents. Jack and Leah are totally spoiled and everyone brought them gifts..what lucky kids. They loved them all! Jack was slightly disappointed when he discovered the Easter Eggs in the yard had toys in them rather than jelly beans like the ones my Grandma and Grandpa brought them. They have been playing with all their new loot ever since. A couple of their favorites are the magnetic fridge farms, a wire and bead toy and leah is particularily fond of a stuffed duck that was given to Jack. She has been carrying it around all week saying “quack quack duck.”
