Day at Home

Yesterday it was raining and cloudy. I don’t know about you but we are ready for spring at our house…and more than 24 hours of nice weather at a time. The kids are soo much happier when we can go outside and play. We had some insulation guys coming and I decided it would be a great day to stay at home and get caught up on cleaning and laundry. The kids have been watching too much TV and I have been seriously limiting their screen time recently. Leah is not a big fan of this. Miss thang wants to watch TV all day long. I turn on the news and she will even sit and watch that. Yesterday I’m pretty sure that she was punishing me for taking away her TV. I can’t even tell you how many times she was in time out yesterday. No matter what I said to her she would look right at me and do the opposite… she is seriously testing the boundries. Everytime Jason has to travel for work she does this which makes me really tired by the time he gets home.

I have been trying to come up with craft projects to keep the kids busy. Yesterday we made flowers. The kids are still loving any project with glue. Last week we made clouds with cotton balls.

Leah has been really into reinacting things that she sees on TV. Yesterday the one show she did get to watch was Jake and the Never Land Pirates. The rest of the afternoon she was dressing up like a Pirate Princess.  She came up to me and said “Mommy in case you didn’t know what a pirate princess looks like this is it.” Look at her facial expressions in these…so ornery.

In other big news…Jack decided to finally use the bathroom for number two. We have been struggling with this so I hope this is a sign that we are moving in the right direction. He was soo proud of himself. He even made me call Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa to share his news.

Three and a Half

This is going to be my 3 1/2 year old post for the kids. We are a month off but better late than never. Last week the kids didn’t get naps all week because we had several doctors appointments and were on the go all week. By Friday it was getting ugly around here… lots of fits, time outs crying. I’m still trying to get them back in to a normal schedule. We have been working on getting the house organized.. I’m hoping to post some pictures soon.

Jack and Leah Raincoats

Weight: 26 pounds
Shoe Size: 9

Height: About 37 inches
Clothes: 2t for shorts and some dresses and swim suits, 3t for other things

Favorite Things to do: Play dress up, put on a show, play babies, build castles out of legos, using glue, playing doctor and cleaning her room
Favorite Foods: Yolk Eggs (Eggs over Easy), Macaroni and Cheese, French Toast, Steak, gummys
Favorite Books: The Very Cranky Bear, Pinkalicious, The Twins
Favorite Shows: Princess Sofia, Jake and the Never Land

Miss Leah is very independent and very sassy these days. We have had a few days that she has had quite a few time outs for talking back to Mommy. The other day while Daddy was gone she told me, “I’m only Daddys baby not your baby.” When I told her that she was lucky she had such a great Daddy she yelled back, “You are supposed to be mad.” She gets dressed all by herself, picks out her clothes and loves to help mommy by setting the table, cooking or telling Jack what to do. She loves school and has been singing lots of songs that she learned at school to mommy. She loves her new room and spends a lot of time “getting it ready” for her friends or family to come over. She still eats about twice as much as Jack and is a little teeny tiny thing.

Weight: 29 pounds
Shoe Size: 9 1/2

Height: About 38 inches
Clothing Size: 2t pants, 3t everything else

Favorite Things to do: TRAINS, Legos, Blocks, Lincoln Logs. Jack loves to build things around his trains…pretty much everything he does is train related. His other favorite thing is going to the park.
Favorite Foods: Pankcakes, Milk, hot dogs, french fries, Pears, gummys, ice cream
Favorite Books: Pinkalicious, Trains, Good Night Good Night Construction Site, Hop Plop
Favorite Shoes: Mickey Mouse Club House, Team UmiZoomi and Jake and the Never land

Jack is a strong willed little guy. He is happy most of the time and can play for hours by himself building elaborate train tracks with tunnels and hills. He is getting pretty good and math and counts everything for me. Jack is not in to being independant and still wants Jason and I to do everything for him. He can do it himself and making him do that can sometimes be a long process. He can also be very sweet and is always quick to give anyone a hug that looks sad.

I know I said I was going to blog more often but life with two three and half year olds is busy. Its ecspecially busy when they don’t nap, you just moved and one of them won’t potty train…so blogging continues to be on the back burner.

To keep this from being super long I’m just to blog about a few of the big things that have happend since I last blogged. The picture below was the kids hugging while in time out.

We moved…in a snow storm. It was kind of crazy but we got everything in the new house on time and we love our new home. Jack and Leah spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa for the actual move but were very exctied to come home. They love having their own rooms. They said they wanted to sleep together before we moved but as soon as we got here and they saw their rooms they decided to sleep apart. The great thing for Jason and I is that they sleep later. Today I asked them what their favorite part of the new house was and Jack said his bed. Leah said it was her toy box. I think Jack’s actual favorite part is that we are close to three different parks so we get to go to the park every day that it is nice. Leah loves everything about her room. She spends a big majority of everyday organizing, rearranging and getting it ready.

Easter. We hosted Easter for my side of the family this year. It was so nice to feel like we had room for everyone. I made Roast Chicken, Carrots, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and then we had salad, bread and a couple of yummy desserts. I wish I had taken more pictures from the day but I was busy cooking and trying to make sure everything was where it needed to be. The kids were spoiled and got lots of Easter goodies and had a great big egg hunt. It was a lot of fun for everyone.

Leah went to see Disney on Ice or as she calls it princess on ice. My parents took her and she had a great time. She got dressed up and let me do her hair and was very excited for an outing alone with her grandparents. My mom said she loved the show and she even got a snow cone in a princess cup to take home. She reminds Jack everytime that she drinks out of it that she got the special cup because she went ot princess on ice because she is a big girl who doesn’t pee in her pants. Jack could care less
