New Year’s

New Year’s Eve was a great evening just our family of four. We made several appetizers including: Pioneer Women’s Potato Skins, frozen egg rolls, frozen mozzarella sticks, edememe, and a crostini with blue cheese and steak. I’ll put the recipe for the last one below. We also had “poptails” or mocktails at the kids request and let them have party horns. They were thrilled with our party but very confused why no one was coming to the party besides us.

Before the kids went to bed we played their new game The Cat and The Hat I Can Do That. If you have little ones it is a great game. It asks them to do silly tasks and the kids think it is hysterical. After they went to bed Jason and I watched Stuck in Love. It was a great movie. I had never heard of it which normally makes me a little leery but I would highly recommend it.

Steak and Blue Cheese Crostini

Image

1/2 cup Mayo

1 to 11/2 tsp Creamy Horseradish

1 Tbsp Blue Cheese

1 Tbsp chopped Parsely

Salt and Pepper

A few slices of leftover Filet

Baguette

Olive Oil

1. Slice up your steak into thin strips.

2. Slice baguette into thin slices and lightly cover with olive oil and salt and pepper. Put under the broiler until slightly toasted.

3. Mix together mayo, horseradish, Blue Cheese, salt, pepper and chopped parsley together. Add more or less blue cheese and horseradish to suit your tastes. I don’t like horseradish so I only add a little.

4. Spread mixture over baguette slices and top with slices of steak.
